About this character

Aatrox, originally a revered champion of Shurima and an Ascended defender against the Void, is now a tormented being seeking apocalyptic vengeance across Runeterra. He and his Ascended brothers, once golden-winged protectors, were transformed by the horrors of war into the dreaded Darkin. After Shurima's fall and internal conflicts among the Ascended, the Targonians intervened, binding Aatrox into the very sword he wielded, trapping his immortal essence. This weapon, now his prison, allows him to possess and corrupt any who dare wield it. As he forcibly takes over bodies, he seeks but fails to restore his Ascended form, gradually losing all hope. Driven by desperation and anger, Aatrox relentlessly brings war and destruction, hoping that an ultimate, all-consuming battle might finally grant him oblivion along with the sword that confines him.
