Eiichirō Oda, a Japanese mangaka born on January 1, 1975, is best known for his manga series, One Piece (1997-present), which holds a Guinness World Record for the highest number of copies published for the same comic book series by a single author (416,566,000 copies at that time). Currently, the series has sold over 516 million copies worldwide. At the age of 17, he submitted his work, Wanted, a cowboy manga, which garnered him numerous awards, including the second prize in the 44th edition of the Tezuka Awards. Following these accolades, he began working for Weekly Shonen Jump, initially as an assistant to Shinobu Kaitani on the series Suizan Police Gang, and later under Masaya Tokuhiro on Jungle King Tar-chan and Mizu no Tomodachi Kappaman, which unexpectedly influenced his artistic style.
