Flandre Scarlet made her debut in the Touhou Project series as the boss of the Extra Stage in Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. Despite being one of the series' most popular characters, she has had few appearances since her debut, only appearing as a minor character in Shoot the Bullet and Violet Detector, and participating in an interview for Bohemian Archive in Japanese Red alongside her sister, as well as being featured in articles in Perfect Memento in Strict Sense and The Grimoire of Marisa.
